What a day!

We woke up this morning with a tiny bit of trouble. I am so disappointed in myself for this by the way but it is OK. I had one little girl who did not want to go to school and one that did not want to get out of bed even though she had an accident. When I finally got everyone going I had to fix breakfast, read to them, brush teeth, comb hair and get to school on time. Then home again...and on the way home I thought about how I really wanted to spend the morning in bed with my little girl. I had this feeling of disconnect with her for some reason. So that is just what I did. We sat in bed watched cartoons and talked. She is so funny to me. As the morning went along I was disappointed in the fact that we had things to do and had to get up and get going. The whole day she seemed OK to me. She had mentioned to me that her head hurt but I just chalked it up to her hair in piggy tails, as she calls them. So mid afternoon sitting in car line to get Jaiden I noticed GuGu looked really white. Her eyes looked glassy and she was talking but I didn't understand a WORD that she was saying. Still I chalked it up to her being sleepy. So we get Jaiden and head home. When we get in the house I make them both sit down to do homework. Yes they BOTH have it. GuGu then says she is cold. I look at her and her little lips are going to town. She almost reminded me of a beaver. So then off we go to check temp. Oh yes she has one..and boy does she. It was 103...boy is that high for her. So I put them both in the car and drove to the doctor. When we get in the office the nurse says "boy she looks like a truck hit her." I swear to you that she didn't look bad all day. We had to wait about ten minutes then we were called back. When we get to the room the nurse comes in and ask questions then takes her weight and temp again. In the time that it took me to get her to the doctor and for them to check her temp it jumped to 105. WOW! I was so worried. She never has fevers this high. I was praying, Jaiden was praying and GuGu was just sitting still. I noticed that she seemed to be getting worse. So they gave her some medicine for the fever and did some other test. She has strep throat. BOY am I happy that is all that it is. So this is going to be my life for the next few days. Hope she gets better soon.

Talk to you next time,
Shannon
